Ecommerce websites are developed to facilitate people in purchasing goods and services. People make extensive use of these websites and ecommerce has become one of the most quickly growing business industries of the world. But the thing which irritates the customers a lot (and which is damaging the ecommerce industry on the whole) is hacking of transactions codes. It is known as cyber crime and the percentage of cyber crime around the world is far more than any other crime. People still are disturbed due to cyber crime. Hackers use sophisticated tools to hack security systems and customer credentials and make payments through their accounts. Trojan horses steal the credentials and codes of the people and make wrong use of it. They also hack the authentification systems. The banks are asked to monitor the online transactions made through them but with such a huge customer base it is difficult to monitor each and every transaction manually.

A bank in Europe has recently developed a strategy of monitoring the online transactions of its customer. They keep a record of the customer’s behavior while making online transactions. By practicing this online transaction monitoring technique they discovered that the Trojan completes the transaction much quicker than a human. According to them the Trojan inserts the code and the amount of transaction in less than 2 seconds whereas a human takes 20 to 30 seconds minimum to make a transaction. The Bank then takes action and confirms that transaction from the customer.

There’s no doubt that online banking systems and the ecommerce transactions could be made much more secure if it is made compulsory to switch on the webcam so that a video of the person making transaction could be made, just like making transactions through ATM. It is true that not everybody has a webcam and it will be difficult for the ecommerce business to attract the customers and develop such systems but if such invention comes into play the ecommerce transactions can be more secure than ever.
